OM Sweden was started in the late 60's, and its office is situated in a suburb called Råslätt. Today the office team consists of about 15-20 people serving more than 40 people on either Global Action or Global Service.

Feel welcome to pay us a visit whenever you are around. We would be happy to tell you all about our work and visions over a cup of coffee. We especially want to let you know about our new Global Action programme called Global Sweden…

Global Sweden:

The church in Sweden today is very much marginalized. It has little authority or respect in a society, which in common with much of the western world, believes that absolute truths are the one thing that cannot be tolerated.

12 - 21% of the population of Sweden are immigrants (depending on the definition of ‘immigrant’) and they come from every continent. (Okay, not so many from Australia!) High unemployment plus social isolation means that integration into Swedish society is difficult for many, and there is an atmosphere of hopelessness in many communities.

“Sweden needs Christians who are willing to get involved in issues such as justice and racism”.

This would speak powerfully to people who feel like they have no way of being heard or changing the situation in which they live.

This is the reason why OM Sweden in September 2006 starts a Global Action programme called Global Sweden. This will be situated in suburbs to Stockholm called Rinkeby and Husby. This programme will focus on reaching secularized Europeans (Swedes), Turkish people groups, Arabic speaking people groups, Persian People Groups, and Somalis. The emphasis will be on youths since almost everyone in that age group speaks English.

It is easy for people coming from countries outside of the EU to get a missionary visa for Sweden.

Please pray for this new programme. That God will touch the heart of the lost through people joining Global Sweden.

“Come to Sweden and love some of the most marginalized people into God´s Kingdom”.
